you can not ship things, that’s cool.  you legit like them as friends that is great!!!!  but firstly tho pointing out blatantly that you DON’T ship something by sticking a “bro” tag on it instead of just letting it alone is a bit weird and sometimes used rudely toward people who actually ship it

and yes tho. bromance and brotp are getting used more and more negatively and to point out you don’t ship men of color and to point out you don’t like a ship particularly. it’s a way of saying “i hate this ship” without saying “i hate this ship”

the-winds-of-summer asked: #ways for me to dump you in the garbage:~brotp~ I'm sorry, I wasn't aware I had to ship every single ship romantically. I wasn't aware that platonic relationships were out of the question. I wasn't aware that thinking about relationships outside of romance made me trash. Perhaps it does make me trash, and indeed, it's not possible for two people to have a very close friendship. Nah, you're right, how silly of me. Only romance, no exceptions.

silversarcasm:

no the pushing of friendshipping of same-sex couples constantly while heterosexuals are always romantic is a problem

especially when it comes to black men(this was in relation to sam/steve), fandom constantly erases black characters and refuses to allow them to be in a relationship

the whole putting of ‘bro’ in front of things is so fucking heteronormative and ridiculous, like you appreciate them aromantically? ok, you~broship~ them because they’re ~bros~ in a ~bromance~? fuck off

there are hundreds of fucking male friendships in every fucking form of media that are celebrated lets not pretend otherwise, forgive me if i get annoyed when i see another fucking one which is disregarded as a queer couple
